This is a big mistake by a government that is totally out of tune with 80 % or more of Canadians. This is a desperate move that will backfire and cause a lot of heart ace and crime in any Ottawa , not to mention at an unbelievable exspence to tax payers. This country is broke thanks to the government in power now it’s got to stop our great grandchildren will be paying for all this reckless spending.

This tent would be an abomination in our community, or any other community. If the federal government is going to force these programs down the throats of communities, they better make sure they have adequate and suitable programs and housing already in place. This is moronic.

No refugee tents in Barrhaven, find another solution near downtown.

The federal Liberal government has caused the overcrowding / uncontrolled immigration/ lack of housing situation in Canada. Hence, unused federal properties should be immediately converted into public housing at federal expense (not municipalities).

I think Rockcliffe Park would be a good site.

Crazy to think this would benefit anyone remotely close to this site!

This is a terrible location. No services, far too close to schools.

I am definitely opposed to such a tent. Everyone is going to suffer, are these people vetted to confirm they aren’t criminals, criminal gangs or sex offenders. We don’t want Barrhaven to become a place where people are afraid to come to. The federal government will have to take all the legal responsibility if any of these people cause harm to any one of us tax paying citizens. Our schools and medical system will suffer as well where the tax paying citizens will end up not being served,

Sprung shelters don’t offer dignity to its residents.

We need an immediate moratorium on any new asylum seekers to address the root cause of the current crisis, not band aid solutions such as this one being proposed in Barrhaven.

Send them back; we already have zero housing for citizens who were actually BORN here

I agree with the cogent arguments set forth in this petition. The federal government is responsible for this problem and should use their own properties

This is ridiculous! Tell Trudeau to stop letting migrants in until we can take care of the ones already here. This is a disaster waiting to happen.

Maybe if we sped up the asylum and extradition process we would reduce the need to shelter them!
