Such a crazy idea, one that was thrust upon our community. We, the taxpayers, are seldom in formed of these ideas until they're a done-deal. Hopefully, this will not happen.

Barrheaven is not a proper place for this temporary shelter because there is no proper infrustructure to accomodate 150 single adult asylum seekers including transportation, social and gov. services, etc.

Having a temp residence tent in a well populated area with good number of business and homes would cause unwanted issues. This might lead to a scenario similar to what's happening at downtown. In recent times the greenbank-strandheard intersection has attracted panhandlers. This was not observed before and would have not go up with this new development. I moved to Barrhaven to provide a safe environment for my kids and I have little confidence that I would be able to ensure safety once the tents are built. The city and the government need to take all factors and the opinion of the residents into consideration before announcing something drastic with very short notice.

I had no concerns when this was to be a temporary shelter for refugees; however, I have since learned this is to become a homeless shelter. There are numerous issues surrounding homeless shelters and a residential area is not suited to address these issues.

Please do not ruin family oriented neighborhoods. Before implementing a plan, it must check with stakeholders, and residents are a big stakeholder of this project.

Treat others as you would wish to be treated. Is this a welcome to Canada you would like to receive?

The concept of a Sprung Tent Shelter to be used for housing single adult refugees is totally unacceptable. The City of Ottawa and Canada can do better than this and provide a more suitable living environment for those coming to Canada to seek a better way of life.
