Apparently there are a lot of federal offices in downtown buildings empty. Why not use them to house migrants? Bringing so many into the country without any plan to ensure they have adequate access to housing or food or employment or education or health care, etc. was totally a federal action. Let the feds now provide accommodation in buildings they still lease or own but no longer occupy.

Does not seem to be a suitable site for such a facility.

First I have heard of it. This proposal needs much more communication and information for Barrhaven residents.

This is absolutely not the time or place to erect such tent housing as it would encourage other unwanted occupants causing problems for the City and around the community and surrounding areas.

Barrhaven does not have the infrastructure in place to support refugees in the short term or long term. These individuals would be better served closer to centre town where they can receive education and training to be a productive and contributing member of Ottawa.

No tents. This not fair to the thousands who are applying for immigration through properly vetted channels. Have we not learned from happenings around the world.
No tent.

This is not a solution to temporary housing. The truth is the federal government and the city needs to find a way to deal with these asylum seekers that is both humane and does put a burden on overextended infrastructures.

I do not feel that this is a long term solution to the problem. Barrhaven does not need this in their community. There has got to be a better solution.

An urgent care clinic is a much better use of this space. If a tent is to be built, it should be in a part of Ottawa that has services, facilities & transportation to support these migrants.
