The federal government is responsible for immigration. Temporary housing for asylum seekers and refugee claimants should be constructed on federal lands in the Ottawa region.

I wish the City of Ottawa would stop treating Barrhaven like Toronto treats Scarborough. We are always treated as a 4th class citizen yet we pay a fair amount in taxes. Wow lets build a train to know where in Riverside South but have more of a population living in Barrhaven. Common sense ideas sure don't come easy here.

These sprung shelters are not an adequate solution to the needs of asylum seekers or new Canadians. Barrhaven does not have the absorptive capacity to support this decision, it is not close to any amenities needed by these people, transit to and from the suburb is awful on a good day, let alone during harsh winter. The shelters - if chosen- should go closer to Ottawa. The longer term solution is more affordable housing- focus on that.

We absolutely disagree with the idea and implementation of tent for refugees. This is a serious concern of our safety as there will be a constant flow of unknown people that just came from a full of hatred region.

This is not the best option to serve New Canadians (we can do better) & besides this, a portion of this land is owned by Sequoia Church and not available for such an initiative.

Barrhaven has become too busy with housing, schools and businesses in last few years and is going rapidly. Such camps/ tent might needed to be considered with proper facilities outside of busy neighborhoods. What are the safety considerations taken for such initiatives.

This is crazy, no funds or resources of any kind should be allotted to any foreign entity until the needs of every single Canadian citizen have been met. Charity starts at home. Corruption beyond belief by so-called "government" at every level.
