Very concerned about adding more people to the Barrhaven area. The infrastructure can't keep up to the amount of people moving in not, same with the city of Ottawa and the Province of Ontario. I am also worried about how it will affect property value of the nearby homes.

Doesn’t the city realize that Barrhaven is already a crowded place with inadequate infrastructure? And they are now thinking about adding more people into this urban mess? I am all for helping people in need. But, it has to be done with long term focus not a make shift programs such as this.

That location is absolutely the wrong place to house this many people.

This is a family community with no support system for asylum seekers. Keep our children safe by keeping this structure out of our neighborhood.

I don’t want to see this shelter’s in my peaceful area. Let’s send all asylums back to their countries and start working on their files . Like how the government do for student and PRs…..once it’s cleared and if they are eligible for asylum then they can come stay where ever they want

It's a families' living area. You cannot bring asylum seekers here. There will be no protection for our families. Already Barrheaven is undergoing so many safety issues. If you want asylum seekers in Canada, then why did you invite educated tax payers to Canada?

As a manager of a local business in Barrhaven, I fully support the petition against the proposed asylum shelter. My primary concern is the safety of my young female staff members and clients who often walk alone to our business at dark hours. By establishing a tent facility in such close proximity, it may create an unsafe work environment. While I empathize with the need for humanitarian solutions, it's essential to find alternatives that do not compromise our community's safety. I urge the city to reconsider the location and engage with local businesses and residents to address these concerns.
