I believe shirts and trousers are not the way to a happy mind, many students would prefer to come into school and work in a comfortable manner, therefore enjoying work more, meaning they wouldn't have to worry about finding the right uniform in the mornings. Uniforms or smart clothes (which are generally more expensive than the average 'weekend clothes') pose an extra expense to families already having to pay for transport, revision and study guides, and food. Also having a uniform or set dress code, has detrimental effects on a students image, with some people unable to buy clothes which fit their build, shape or stature, I believe school should be a pupil friendly place, with the mental wellbeing of the students put first.

This truly made me upset when I heard this, I was looking forward to expressing myself when I reached sixform now I feel isolated and can't truly express myself as a person. I am now thinking about not staying on next year which makes me really sad :(

Time for work and freedom of expression should matter much more than looking 'professional'. I know that not only me, but many of my friends were looking forward to 6th form almost on the basis of finally wearing something comfortable whilst working, and taking that away would just be unfair.
