No rotary should even be considered near schools. Children are impulsive and in addition not able to make judgement calls considering traffic coming from so many directions. Just watch a child trying to decide when and how to cross a regular street. Should definitely not be a rotary at this site!!!

I am agaInst all “rotaries”. As a constant walker—people do not stop at many arearas. We do noT need traffic to go faster! I attended one meeting, only to be told and talked over by a Planning Board mem ber that I
did not understand.. How about trying Stopsigns at each of these roads, yes, I can hear the groans, but why not try! I also thought we voted not to spend the money at thepolls. Am I wrong?

Concerned about “speeding up traffic” so close to our school. Many children will have to walk/bike through this rotary during the school year and summer months (camps).

As a former resident and bus driver there is no reason to change what is there. People need to STOP at each corner just to give pedestrians and bicyclists a fighting chance!

What a terrible idea. And did you really pay people lots of money to come up with this nightmare of a design? I certainly do not look at this plan and see flowing traffic and pedestrian safety. Fantastic. And I should've listened to the Islanders who have seen it all before, at last months talk about the 3 rotary ideas. The seasoned crowd said we were shut down and "they" don't care what we want. They are going to do whatever they want. I gave the meeting organizers the benefit of the doubt. I should've known better than to think" this time will be different".

Rotaries are very dangerous for pedestrians and cyclist and there are a ton of both by the school. The roundabout didn't really solve any traffic problems, why would this rotary?

This will decrease safety, speed up traffic, cause confusion and is another example of chipping pieces off Nantucket for no good reason. Streamlining roads on a small island to improve access for people who are here for two months of the year is not good use of taxpayers funds.

All this will do is endanger students that walk to school. I don't trust drivers to be responsible as I know of at least 2 crossing guards that have been hit while crossing students.
