Centercourt Chatham is considering moving the ninja warrior course indoors to court 6 or 8. These plans are extremely upsetting and troublesome to the members of this club. We all pay a lot of money via membership dues to have access to the facilities. Many of us also spend lots of money on clinics, camps and private lessons.

It has become increasingly difficult to book a court to play or practice at a convenient time. It is even harder to reserve an indoor court to play or use the ball machines. There are always camps, private lessons, cardio classes, and clinics that take priority over members court requests.

The proposal to move the course indoors and eliminating such court for member use will further exasperate the difficulty of reserving indoor courts for play or ball machine use. Having a ninja course with all of the children adjacent to the indoor tennis courts will be distracting to those that are playing tennis. Furthermore, if the course is moved indoors, how can it be rationalized that the course will have minimal use while children are in school, and it be acceptable to the members that they have lost the ability to play tennis on that court. Lastly, having a ninja course with all of the children adjacent to the indoor tennis courts will be distracting to those that are playing tennis.

It is also our understanding that the proposed plans include “building” 1 or 2 outdoor courts where the current ninja course is and to cover them with a bubble. This is unacceptable to us. Members like to play on the hardcourts that are not covered by a bubble.

Finally it is disturbing that Centercourt continues to give greater access to many non members to use the facilities. We as members feel completely disregarded despite all of the money that we spend at Centercourt.

If Centercourt follows through with these plans, the club will risk losing many of its members.
