at a cost of 23,000 each, refugee's must not be housed before any person homeless in the highlands, any person in temporay housing,b&b's or on our lengthy housing list, however they help the refugee's,it cannot be at the expense of our local needy people.

I have been reviewing the feedback left on this page and the frustration regarding local housing shortages is clearly shared by many. My focus remains on ensuring that our established residents are prioritized during this period of limited resources. I am currently preparing a formal letter to the local council to demand transparency regarding their allocation policies.

October 31, 2015

The growing momentum behind this petition highlights a widespread concern for the stability of our local housing situation. It is clear that the community prioritizes the needs of our own residents who are currently without secure accommodation.

like most people I was shocked Nd saddened to see the the footage of the Syrian refugees but have am also fully aware that we have people born in Scotland and the highlands that are homeless and sleeping on the streets and using food banks, we must address this issue first.

a lot of the local people struggle to get houseing and have been told by the council that they will have to wait, even if they are working or not, therefore any refugees should not be placed higher on housing lists before the local people, they do not and have not contributed and should not be placed before the local people.

My son and his wife and 4 children are in a tiny cramped 3 bedroom maisonette, they have been waiting for an extra bedroom for a long time. Rehouse Highland families first.
