This saddens me. I do NOT want to see this! If this is what the writers are wanting I suggest counseling because there is some underlying issues they have not dealt with.

There is nothing edgy nor required in having your already complex and intriguing character rapes on the show. Don't, just don't. Our, meaning women, depth is not and should not be based on sexual violence being brought on to every flipping female protagonist on television. You will lose a viewer if you are lazy enough to fall into this lazy trope. Period.

I think we shouldn't have the rape scene because mary is pregnant with Francis Child we don't want her to lose the child. I don't want the rape in reign

That is twisted, grotesque, and frankly disappointing. You can be sure that if that episode airs, you will loose me, as a fan and a supporter of Reign, same many others you will anger. You do not have to result to such primitive, disgusting means for getting viewers when you will loose those you already have. History has already written a plot for you, Reign.

The difference being that everything is pointing to this storyline being used just for Mary to miscarry - the promos for 2x04 show Mary saying she's pregnant, and this is being used as a device for her to miscarry. There are other ways for her to miscarry without using such a sensitive matter. If the show was going to treat it with dignity and not use it as a device to cause complications for Francis and Mary, that would be different, but everything that we're seeing points to it being the complete opposite.

Am I the only one to note: Catherine was raped, Mary and her ladies very nearly raped but where saved by Catherine, this is not the first time rape has been a storyline for the tv show nor will it be the last I suspect, and to be honest in the period of time that the show is set it men have been known to resort to rape to force a women they desire to wed them, the shows writers are only sticking to stuff that is common for that time period so lay of the writers.

This is not okay. If this episode airs (unchanged), I will show no support for this show.

Rape as a plot device is beyond overdone in media and 99 times out of 100, the way it's handled is just to create more drama for the characters (as opposed to thoughtfully exploring the emotional and psychological ramifications that experiencing something like that can have) and thus trivializes something that many women who watch these shows have experienced personally. PLEASE, REIGN. You're better than this. You don't have to resort to having your main character be a victim of sexual violence in order to create drama! Be creative!

If you think that the rape scene was a source of entertainment, then your wrong, this not only brought attention to it and it's harm. it has also shown girls how it was handled properly. Just because she cried and was scared doesn't make her weak; she gathered her wits and faced the people of the court after to assure that everyone was fine even though she was violated. THAT took a lot of guts because she didn't let what happened ruin her life. She became a victor instead of a victim. Murder, mutilation, bullying, racism have all been portrayed on television, yet it still airs. This happens, and it happened to Mary Stuart. You can't change what has already been done in history, but we can improve as people in the future. It's sickening how you all just think it's for entertainment purposes. It's not. And for those who wanted a trigger warning, I'm sorry something happened to you, but as you know, life doesn't have a trigger moment, and the reason why Reign is so good is because it's so real. Life isn't hidden and glorified by this show. You'll see horrific things that happen all too often in real life, and it hurts. If it affects you too much, I would suggest considering a therapist, there's nothing wrong with getting help. They couldn't change it because this was filmed prior to the day it was released (months prior) and if they deleted this, it wouldn't explain the Conde situation and the next episode. Mary stayed strong, she wasn't weak at all, this was a prime example of not letting people take your pride and strength away by doing disgusting actions. It's okay to be scared, but YOU (and mary) are a beautiful, strong person and nobody can take that away from you.

If written well, a miscarriage plot can have plenty of emotion and drama for the characters all on its own. Why do writers feel the need to add on sexual violence for extra drama? It needlessly sensationalizes something that many viewers of the show may have experienced (or known someone who has experienced) themselves.

I saw the episode and approved on how they handle it, rape is a serious crime and it be should be shown on tv to encourage victims should get help and speak out about it. Most young people prefer to listen and learn from the entertainment industry and social networks rather than adults in their lives, sad but true.
