Please do not be blinded by the false promises of the developers. The reason for thousands to visit on an annual basis that spend millions of dollars will be destroyed . And it will never, ever be able to be recreated.

My wife and I have visited Belize for twenty years ... The type of development described in the petition should nor occur. That development will eventually destroy what has kept us coming back.

We are not Fiji, we are not Bora Bora, we are not Maldives, we are not Jamaica, we are better, We are special and we need to stay that way and promote ourselves that way to keep bringing in the kind of tourists that bring in the dollars and jobs that count. They say they will create 300 jobs but those jobs won't be for Belizeans and they will only be during construction, once construction is done it will only be a few Belizeans working there. In the meantime jobs and dollars will be lost for one of the most lucrative industries in the country that provide for hundreds every day. Stop the pirate developers once and for all before they destroy everything.

Benthic habitats, whetehr they are sand, muddy-sandy or seegrass are important habitats for macro and micro invertebrates that suatain organisms up a foodwebs. Dredging and over the water structures will be initial drivers of habitat destruction, modification and deterioration. Not to mention long term impacts from boat traffic, grey water, and en masse human presence in critical habitats.

I have fished the waters of Blackadore and Rosario for many years and it would be a travesty for any structures to inhibit the absolutely amazing ecosystem located there. Please do what is right and protect these marine reserves!
