إلى حركة المقاطعة،
منذ أشهر ونحن فنانين وناشطين نتوجه إليكم بخصوص فيلم NO OTHER LAND الذي فاز بجائزة الأوسكار في مسابقة الفيلم الوثائقي الطويل، ولم نتلقَ إجابة رسمية وواضحة منكم حتى الآن. وكل ما تلقيناه هي أجوبة وردود في الهواء لا يمكن للناس الاعتماد عليها أمام المهرجانات والصحافة والنقاشات الداخلية.
وأن الإشكالية الأساسية في الموضوع أنكم تعرفون جيداً أن الفيلم إشكالي بثلاثة محاور:
١) مشاركة مخرج إسرائيلي
٢) التمويل من كلوز أب
٣) تصريحات يوفال

هذه الأسباب قد طرحت أمامكم منذ أشهر وكانت كافية لكي يُدرج الفيلم في إطار التطبيع والمقاطعة. ورغم ذلك، أعلنت الحركة أنها لن تدخل في مواجهة مفتوحة مع الفيلم لأسبابها الخاصة (ليست المعركة المهمة حالياً) وبسبب نشاط يوفال. هذه الأجوبة تلقيناها بشكل غير رسمي منكم، مثلما تلقينا موقفاً غير رسمياً عن إشكاليات الفيلم.
نحن نرى خطورة الفيلم السياسية والثقافية وأنها قد فتحت باباً جديداً وفرصة لكل من يريد أن يخرق هذه المعايير ويضرب العمل المشترك بين الفنانين والحركة. ما يحصل اليوم من تبييض لوجه الاحتلال وصورته أمام العالم وتجلي السينما الفلسطينية تحت اسم التعايش هو خطر ومأزق كبير لنا كفنانين بما نتمسك به من مبادئ وقيم. وأن سكوت الحركة طوال هذه الأشهر أعطى ويعطي الشرعية للانزلاق نحو العمل المشترك بين الفنانين الإسرائيليين والفلسطينيين، وتلقي تمويل من جهات مشبوهة.
نعتقد أن من الخطأ أن ترى الحركة عدم الحديث وأخذ موقف من الفيلم على أنها معركة ليست مهمة وغير مؤثرة.
لذا، نتوجه إليكم مرة أخرى لأخذ أجوبة واضحة ورسمية منكم كمؤسسة وحركة شعبية تجيب على التساؤلات وتعمل مع الناس والفنانين على بناء حركة شعبية وتحالف شعبي يقف في وجه التطبيع.
١) أين يقف الفيلم في معايير المقاطعة وماذا يخرق بشكل واضح؟
٢) كيف ستتعامل الحركة مع الفيلم وما هي الخطوات التي ستكون إعلامياً وداخلياً؟
٣) لماذا تفضل الحركة التركيز على حملات أقل تأثيراً وأقل خطورة من فيلم NO OTHER LAND وتترك هذا الفيلم دون محاسبة؟

To the BDS movement,

For months, we, as artists and activists, have been reaching out to you regarding the film *NO OTHER LAND*, which won an Oscar in the Best Documentary Feature category. However, we have yet to receive an official and clear response from you. All we have received are vague and informal answers that cannot be relied upon in the face of festivals, the press, and internal discussions.

The core issue is that you are well aware that the film is problematic in three key aspects:
1) The participation of an Israeli director.
2) Funding from Close Up.
3) Yuval's statements.

These reasons were presented to you months ago and were sufficient to classify the film within the framework of normalization and boycott. Despite this, the movement has declared that it will not engage in an open confrontation with the film for its own reasons (claiming it is not the most important battle at the moment) and due to Yuval's activism. These responses were conveyed to us informally, just as we received an unofficial stance on the film's issues.

We see the political and cultural danger of this film, as it has opened a new door and created an opportunity for those who wish to violate these standards and undermine the collaborative work between artists and the movement. What is happening today—whitewashing the face of the occupation and its image to the world, and presenting Palestinian cinema under the guise of coexistence—is a significant danger and dilemma for us as artists who hold firm to our principles and values. The movement's silence over these months has granted and continues to grant legitimacy to the slide toward collaborative work between Israeli and Palestinian artists and the acceptance of funding from suspicious sources.

We believe it is a mistake for the movement to view refraining from addressing and taking a stance on the film as an unimportant and inconsequential battle.

Therefore, we are reaching out to you once again to obtain clear and official answers from you as an institution and a popular movement that responds to inquiries and works with people and artists to build a popular movement and a grassroots alliance that stands against normalization.

1) Where does the film stand in terms of boycott criteria, and what does it clearly violate?
2) How will the movement address the film, and what steps will be taken both publicly and internally?
3) Why does the movement prefer to focus on less impactful and less dangerous campaigns than *NO OTHER LAND*, leaving this film unaccounted for?
