Following the deaths of two homeless men in Folkestone, we, the undersigned, say that enough is enough. We don't want to see another person die homeless, and we call on Shepway District Council and or local MP Damian Collins to act urgently! There are empty shop units, office spaces, care homes etc that could be pressed into service as emergency accommodation. We want to see you work with local agencies and to cut whatever red tape you have to to ensure that no one in our community spends another night on the streets. No excuses. It's time to act.

Edited on Sunday 18 January 2015 at 21:13 to add: This is part of a campaign organised by the local community. We believe that *everyone* deserves a roof over their heads. Racist comments will be deleted.

One hundred people have now added their names to this call for action. It has been a long and draining week but seeing this many neighbors agree that enough is enough gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward.

The position now is absolutely unacceptable, there are many unoccupied premises in the town some owned by the Creative Foundation. There is no more reason to be creative than to save lives.

The churches amazingly provide the winter shelter, but the government need to get involved in providing accommodation all year long - stop claiming for expenses for paper clips and pull your fingers out.

There were three homeless people sheltering outside Iceland in Folkestone this morning. One was an old lady.Something must be done to help the vulnerable in our community.

I feel so very strongly about this. Any building that has been empty for a period of time, say one year, must be used to house the homeless if a use hasn't been found. Please open up some of these buildings to help the homeless.

These two guys were mates whom I took out for a spin in the car every so often and chatted to loads. Tragic waste. Please sign and let's try to make change happen, for the sake of Nick and Jamie.
