As a Memphis native, I have lived and visited several other places where the quality of water was significantly different than what I wad used to. While in college, myself and other Memphis students had skin reactions to the showering water in our dorm, because it was so much harder than what our body was used to. The water in other places even varies in tastes the further you get away from the city. We Memphians take pride in the purity of our water and refuse to settle for anything less.

We can’t allow this to happen. Say what you want - we shouldn’t trust them with our most precious resources and the health of our citizens. I lived in New Orleans during the 2010 oil spill...it’s was heart wrenching. Everything is fine, until it’s not. And then you watch lives ruined and natural resources die as oil spills into your land for days on end. These people do not care about anything but money. These are things you just cannot put a sticker price on...it’s more than land...it’s our natural resources, our community, and our health. It does not benefit the Memphis community. This is not progress. It is regress.
