To allow this pipeline to be built would be to bolster infrastructure that is already very literally killing Black people, other peoples of color, and poor people. You would also be sacrificing a critical natural resource that your city and the ecosystem it’s part of needs for sustenance.

Environmental racism is such a deeply systemic thing. This pipeline and the resulting effects will harm the people of color in Memphis for generations to come. No money is greater than that.

This is one more deadly and unjust example of environmental racism. This must be stopped. Our grassroots organization Friends of Buckingham was instrumental in stopping the massive compressor station as part of the Atlantic Coast Pipeline. The Fourth Circuit Court ruled that it did not consider the impact on the 84% African American and low income neighborhood where they wanted to site this nasty piece of infrastructure thus endangering their health. Please oppose the Byhalia Connection Pipeline and be on the right side of history. Prove that you are and that you actually care for the welfare of the people, ALL THE PEOPLE.
