I was born in Memphis and the city has been vital to the life of me, my friends and family, the State of Tennessee, and the whole of the country. Do not tempt polluting the water of Memphis this way!!

I have travelled the world, and have consumed water all over the globe. I have drunk from fountains in Budapest, and bottles in Shanghai and Nanjing.
Every time I return home to Memphis, I have a nice, tall glass of our tap water. It truly is unparalleled, and the thought that we would do something so shortsighted to endanger that precious resource is abhorrent.
Think not only of the citizens of this city, but also the businesses that rely on our aquifer. Ghost River, Wiseacre, Memphis Made, High Cotton, Crosstown, Old Dominic, just to name a few. All of these are here because of our quality water, and I hazard a guess they bring in more per year than what Valero is offering. These businesses are local, and give back to their community. They employ people from the community. They live in this community.
Please, turn aside this short-sightedness and PROTECT OUR AQUIFER. Please, say NO to the pipeline.

Common sense would be to not let a pipeline cut through protected habitat, wells, and the water supply of a large city. It is no accident that the pipeline will travel through a majority black community in the mid south.
