As a resident of east memphis I oppose this plan! The proposal puts memphians of color at an increased risk of harm and the environmental impacts effect all memphians.

STOP the pipelines!! I am encouraging Memphis City Council and MLGW to stop the pipelines from being routed through our communities. Protect our water and land. Do not allow them to put pipeline in our communities. Let them put them in their own communities on their own land, not ours.

Continuing with this pipeline construction would demonstrate environmental racism and would once again reinforce lack f care for communities of color and for the prolonged health of both people and ecosystems.

The choice of placement of this pipeline is a clear sign of environmental racism. Placing a pipeline which will inevitably have failing; leaks, bursts, etc. in a predominantly POC neighborhood is saying that they deserve to live with environmental consequences that will harm them. It isn't a question of if the pipeline will break down but of when. When it will cause pollution to the air, water, and land it takes up.

Stop trying to take advantage of already disadvantaged communities. Divest from fossil fuels. Our people and our environment can’t handle it and deserve better.
Stop polluting our soil! Stop endangering people! Stop environmental racism now!
