I am against this dispensary in my neighborhood. We already have a dispensary near our house.

I don’t have a problem with dispensaries, but my kids attend school at Peralta and we already live quite close to Secrets (which I wish wasn’t there), so I have to be mindful about the type of neighborhood we are cultivating for the youngest and most vulnerable of our community.

Oh really? Although this is technically in Oakland, its close enough to the So. Berkeley border to be considered Berkeley. This is nothing more than pre 1960's...when the liquor stores were placed in South Berkeley -thus having a liquor store on just about every corner. Just what So. Berkeley needs....another Cannabis establishment - when ICann is going to be at Alcatraz & Sacramento. The more things change...truly they stay the same. The availability of cannabis is literally going to destroy this generation and the next generation of kids. Between technology, social media and cannabis...it's going to be a very sad trajectory of people not wanting to do anything BUT get high.

I have lived a few blocks from the proposed location since 1989. I profoundly oppose this business for Alcatraz and Shattuck. we already have one a few blocks up.

There are several reasons why this is an unacceptable location for this kind of business. First, already the traffc at that intersection is completely blocked. The bbq business across the st closed last year in large part becausr there is no oarking. lots of traffic on Shattuck. The other reason is that already we have a marijuana store just a few blocks away. The residents of wealthier neighborhoods never would allow even a suggestion of adding a second such business in such close proximity. Imagine such a request in Piedmont. Please do not allow any further consideration of this location for such a business.

I agree with the five objections already stated, especially since I live near enough to the current dispensary on Shattuck and see the amount of traffic that surrounds it. We do not need another one of these stores in our neighborhood.

There is not enough parking already in our neighborhood between Ashby BART and the congestion on Alcatraz Ave where apartment residents already have to have guests park several blocks away. So many times my friends and family have to just stop in the street with the hazzards on to pick me up or drop me off. Litter is a problem as is public smoking. Also currently we have been seeing a rise in the number of mentally ill in the neighborhood who show up in the laundromat. The sidewalk in front is a major walkway for those of us who go to BART and families who walk to school. There is also a major busline at that corner as well people do need to feel unsafe or exposed to secondhand smoke.

Our neighborhood has had chronic problems (parking, bloxking driveways, blocking streets, litter, public smoking, litter, and more litter) with the existing cannabis dispensary only a few blocks away from this proposed site. We DO NOT want another dispensary in this location. Equitable distribution of dispensaries across other neighborhoods would be more appropriate.
