This is stupid why would let a white supremacist speak at a university?

Discourse and debate that dehumanizes me and my people is not discourse nor debate.

As an alumni of this institution, I am incredibly disappointed that this bigot was invited to campus.

The University of Miami should not stand for something like this.

The ideas peddled by Murray are hackneyed and debunked, lacking any semblance of academic legitimacy. There is no meritorious dialogue to be had with an individual whose work is both irrelevant and ignorant. If Miami Law and the federalist society are interested in dialogue, free speech, and legitimate conservative thought, at least find a speaker whose ideas remain relevant. It is intellectually dishonest to bring this man to campus under the auspices of "free speech" and debate. Murray's writing is bigotry passed off as neutral scholarship, and it has no place in the context of sincere political debate.

President Frenk: I am deeply disappointed to see that your promise to "denounce the rhetoric and actions of white supremacists" from your Charlottesville statement somehow involves lining their pockets and giving them a platform to spew hate. Allowing someone who asserts some of our student body is genetically inferior based on skin color doesn't feel like you are "standing in solidarity" with students of color. I urge you to do the right thing and cancel this event.

There is a such thing as hearing varied, educated opinions. And then there is letting gross prejudices and vile misinformation spread. The latter has no place in an institution of higher learning and I am appalled that there is not a stronger vetting process for the qualifications of public speakers at the University of Miami.

There should be no place for someone who has received praise and recognition due to oppression and discrimination and pure hatred AT ALL!!!

UM is a university that holds much pride in the diversity and togetherness we all share as students, faculty and staff. Allowing someone that has been named a white supremacist to speak on our campus would hold a huge negative effect to people of color and different racial backgrounds that make up our university.

It would be a great disservice to the students of color and different ethnicity who pay money and dedicate their best efforts and take pride in being a student of the university of Miami to allow a man/group of such a violent, hateful, and discriminatory reputation to come and hold an event at the school. If you could please consider the students that this could effect and rethink the decision to allow this speaker to come, it would greatly avoid mass controversy and reinforce the notion that the school has the students best interest at heart.

As a parent of a student at UM I am appalled that he has even been invited to such a diverse institution! He is not welcome!

At this point, I am led to believe that Charles Murray *DOES* represent the values of University of Miami School of Law. I'm inclined to tell all of my friends, peers and colleagues that UM is not a place for rigorous social science, respect for students, or respect for administrative procedure. It seems clear to me that the school is quicker to cede to the interests of one loud white supremacist dude and not respect the voices of MANY women and students of color.

This kind of rhetoric is hurtful and offensive to our brilliant, diverse community. Dr. Murray's white supremacy and vitriol have no place at the University of Miami.

He is also an extreme sexist that is offensive to all who believe in equality and fairness.

Higher Education should be afforded to all those that seek it. No one should feel that the freedom of speech should put them in immediate danger. Please don't allow this hate to be perpetuated.

This man does not represent the values of the University of Miami School of Law. I see no value in hosting a debate that actively subjugates diverse aspects of our student body. After President Frenk's message, which Dean White endorsed, about our campus values I am shocked and disappointed that the administration has allowed a rogue student organization to proceed with this event despite not following proper procedure.
