No More Taxpayer Funds for Kevin Murphy's Brewery While Hospitals and Schools Close
In recent years, well-known Liberal Party supporter Kevin Murphy and his various companies have received millions of dollars from PEI taxpayers in loans or other monetary supports. At the same time, the Liberal government has closed hospitals, Emergency Rooms, and cancelled promised upgrades in our schools. At a time when the Liberals are running $100 million yearly deficits it was easy for the government to claim that they cannot muster the necessary funds to follow through on their promises to Island families. Unfortunately, some Island families are being treated better than others. The Globe and Mail recently estimated Kevin Murphy's total personal worth to be in the tens of millions of dollars. He doesn't need help from taxpayers like you and me, especially to produce beer that he was already producing anyway.
Let the PEI Liberals know that you prioritize Island families, schools, and health care above well-connected Liberal firms who want to make more beer. What's more important to you: a quality health care system, or expanded beer production? Send the Liberals a message. Beer doesn't belong in their youth wing and it doesn't belong in our public accounts.
We the undersigned call for a prohibition on public funds for Kevin Murphy's brewery.
