As an alumni, this is deeply disturbing that she has not had adequate accountability in regards to these incidents and behaviors. A school’s principal should instill SAFETY, ENCOURAGEMENT, RESPECT, and INTEGRITY!!!!! Otherwise he/she is vastly missing the purpose of the job!!! No argument that the needs to be change.

A close personal friend (and fellow alum) was a teacher there until Ross’ approach and leadership style forced him to leave Valley for ethical reasons.

Toss Ross!!! She has solely used her power to demean, intimidate, and belittle many of my friends and family members during and after my time at LVHS. This is something I feel so strongly about not only due to my own experience as a student but also to advocate for my friends and past teachers who have been affected by her dictatorship. I loved LVHS and can no longer stand to see its reputation tanked by this woman.

She has bullied the LVHS Dance Team for years and I have lots of terrible things she has done to the team. I was a captain of the team and I’ve graduated now but I’m still frustrated by the way she has treated the team for about 5 years. She was never supportive of the team and teachers knew that as well and always told us we were the hardest working team at Valley.

Awful principal, I graduated last year and I didn’t feel safe in her school and felt like she had no grip on anything.

She’s never really cared about the school. When I attended valley, she was never actually at the school, she was always off school property, and unreachable.

She’s making the school a joke to the whole county and other peers. The students deserve better. The whole student body deserves better leadership and this has been going on for too long.

The numbers of scandals alone signal a change in leadership at Loudoun Valley High School is far overdue.
LVHS should be an excellent school given its resources and the support of parents and the community but by all accounts (students, teachers, parents) it’s not excellent. In fact, it’s not even good or fair. Things have regressed so much that I’d give it a poor rating and that is unacceptable.
Sue Ross can no longer be Principal.

My youngest is a senior, so we've had some experience with this principal. My observation is that Ms. Ross has not been taking an active role in managing the school for a few years. She is, most of the time, nowhere to be seen by students and parents alike. When I have entered the school to meet with staff I have seen several students just leaving class when they want to, openly vaping in the restroom when I entered it and just generally doing what they want to. Over the past few years, I have observed that Ms Ross, as principal, appears to show no discipline, no accountability, nor responsibility for the safety and learning environment of our children. I have believed that she needs to be removed for the past 4 years since the grading scandal.

Even at my time at LVHS Principal Ross didn’t run the school as it should’ve been. After this craziness I think it is time for her to step down

Trust me shes not the only issue at that “school” focus on fixing the whole problem not just one person. Its the whole loudoun school system. She shouldnt be the only one under attack. Half the teachers there dont teach in the first place.

@anonymous, you should be scared. this school is going downhill so fast. as a senior here I can definitely confirm that we have a lot of “vapers”. for the record not only vapes are being used in the bathrooms though. good luck to the school, I’m outta this dump!

I do not feel comfortable with and Ross in charge at this school. I have seen the students walking the halls during what should have been instructional times, and there was no leadership to be found. She was in her office with the door closed.
