Do a search for a property and see how many retirement homes there are for sale in our area. Try and find an affordable family home, and they're few and far between. We need more affordable housing in Bridport please.

100% agree with everything said. Exactly what we don't need in Bridport.

We need to redress the age balance by encouraging more young people of working age to be able to live here and contribute to the economy of the town.

Let's have some affordable housing for the young, as they're priced out of the market by retirement and 2nd home owners.

As a mother to be I am over the moon to be able to bring our children up in such a beautiful place, but what happens when they are grown up? I am 31 and there are only a handful of my old school friends left in the area as after university hardly anybody can afford to settle here. I don't want it to be a given that my children will finish their education and then move away, I would like it to be the norm for them to stay in the area, and this can only happen if we have more affordable housing for the younger generation. Yes it is a lovely place to retire to but if the cost is having to push our own children out then I am fully against it.

I love old people. But i reckon in this day and age due to the fact that us young un's can't get on the housing ladder what would be nice is some affordable places. And remember people the car park is useful. love and peace. Viva la revoloution

100% Against this planning application. Firstly, we need more affordable housing for younger local people, Bridport has really changed over the years and become a vibrant and enjoyable place to live. Please don't allow it to be turned into a retirement village. Secondly, valuable parking spaces will also be lost if this proposal goes ahead. Parking in the town centre is already a problem, let's not add to it!

Everybody needs somewhere to live, however if you tip the balance to heavily in favour of one age group you have the potential to ruin the diversity of the town. That's not what Bridport needs.

The need for yet more retirement homes in Bridport is heavily disputed. The town's demographic is becoming far too skewed away from the balanced age population that a town needs to thrive.
