No more phone pouch at CCHS!
Cornwall Central High School teachers should never be able to take our phones at the start of class inside the phone pouch. If a student is being disruptive, then a teacher should be allowed to take a child's phone, however, a teacher should not take a student's phone without a legitimate reason.
The reasoning for this is, that if a student has a SUDDEN EMERGENCY, they will not be able to reach their parents and vice versa.
Teachers tend to use the argument that a parent can call the school if they wish to reach a child. However, the school will know that the parent called the school, and may overhear what the child and the parent are discussing. Through a quick text, a parent can easily let their child know that an emergency is happening without making it the school's business. If there is a school-wide emergency, a parent will not be able to call the child in ever circumstance. Ex. a lockdown or a fire.
