We are organizing a campaign that calls for Montclair State University to significantly discount and possibly even remove the high prices for student parking passes. Students have so many financial demands (tuition and fees, gas, rent, books, etc.) placed on them each semester. By signing this competition you are agreeing that the prices for on campus parking are far too high for struggling students and encouraging those in charge to reduce or remove these parking permit requirements immediately.

We hit 250 signatures and the administration at Montclair State cannot ignore us anymore. They are squeezing us for every cent while we struggle to pay for basic necessities. Keep pushing because they need to know they can no longer treat our tuition money like a bottomless piggy bank.

There is no reason why the parking pass should be priced so high. It is a waste of money and the best part is that there isn't even a significant amount of parking spaces. Parking should be free -- tuition, books, and the other nonsense fees are enough. So disappointing!!!!!
Yeah it’s kind of ridiculous, and there should be enough parking spaces for students and staff. We’re treated as piggy banks and not as students.
I believe in a decrease in prices, I don't think it should be free because I know the money goes towards upkeep and what not but for how many students commute I and have their car on campus I don't think it should be at the crazy high price that it is at right now
I had 1 in person class that met every other week during COVID-19 in the Spring 2020, and I still needed a parking pass, it’s ridiculous. I live 15 minutes from campus and had someone drop me off any time I needed to go on campus so I could save my parking pass money for groceries and books.
There are so many other expenses we have to take care of for school. Either lower the price or have way more parking spots open for students. Spending hours looking for a parking spot intervenes my education because there has been times I miss class because of the lack of parking. I'm paying all this so it's not fair. Please do something about this!

Im already paying $10,000 a year. Is it necessary for MSU to rob me anymore of my money?

MSU will do anything to get the most money out of us. Im paying $6000+ a semester to live on this campus... I should NOT have to pay extra to park my car outside my building.
