Members can make blocklists, add anyone they want even if blocked, and use it to spread false information and harass others. The momentum behind this plea proves that users are fed up with the pathetic excuse for safety that Bluesky calls moderation. While the developers bury their heads in the sand and let harassers weaponize these lists against us, we are building a force they cannot ignore.

Tired of being added to block lists just for being a sex worker! Especially one that doesn't idolize Sweet Bee, the biggest abuser of moderation lists.
I have been added to multiple blocklists by a large creator, simply for unfollowing a creator I wasn’t comfortable with.
There must be greater moderation by the sites owners, as Block lists can currently be abused in worrying ways which could effect people's income if they use the platform for work. A more robust site admin is needed for the benefit of all users, especially in with how Twitter and Meta are now literally allowing minorities to be persecuted, for BSky to not increase protections would be a major failing.
Agreed. We are being targeted by harassment accounts who are spreading lies and trying to either manipulate the platform, unfairly compete with others, or both. They've even admitted to doing so and threatened that they can and will keep doing it because BlueSky simply allows them to do it.
I have personally been a victim of this. Moderation lists are a really nice idea in an ideal world, but we don't live in an ideal world. People are using these falsly accuse others they personally don't like. I think bluesky needs to consider that while they are a well intentioned feature they will always be abused in this way.
People are getting stalked and indiscriminately reported, then shadow banned and suspended over old posts and also for no reason at all. This feature is causing undue chaos and it should be removed.

Someone hacked my account, added everyone they could to a block list, then deleted their profile. I'm still having to deal with the fallout here. It's WAY too easy to simply toss someone you don't like onto one of these lists, excommunication them from BlueSky forever!
