As it is I wish I could take 19 hours. This prevents hardworking students from completing their goals.

This is a great inconvenience to people who have their lives already planned around early graduation. Who are you take ruin someones life just so you can get more money. If you're supposed to be a God institution. Then you need to act like it and put these peoples thoughts and hard work first.

Numerous students from across the world have selected to invest in Lee University for the sake of attaining a valuable education. How can any individual grow when their opportunities have been taken away unbeknownst to them? Lee University is a growing school. It should not be decreasing their number of credit hours instead it should be accommodating and provide students the opportunity to study a discipline in greater depth.

I am a music major who currently needs to take approximately 19 hours to finish my degree even in 4 1/2 years. I would really appreciate being able to take more classes without having to pay even more extra money.

It should honestly be 18 hours because then you can take 6 classes without charge but this 16 is just a ploy to get money....

This is stupid. Most of the 1 credit classes have a fee attached to them (bowling, taekwando, etc) and there aren't many 2 credit classes most of the classes are 3 credit or 1 credit. This is completely screw everyone who is having to keep the 130 hour programs. Please allow the 17 credit hours.

That is what is most wrong here. We have a right to be informed so that we can plan accordingly. Tuition goes up slowly every year at every college, due to the economy, inflattion, etc. However it is wrong that the majority of classes are 3 credit hours, it is extremely difficult to graduate on time only taking 15 hours. When I was an accounting major, I needed 150 hours for CPA, even coming in with credits, I still needed to take 18 hours for at least 4 semesters to graduate "on time". To graduate in 4 years with 130 program, you must take 16.25 per semester, unless you come in with credits or do summer courses. This leaves no wiggle room for students who have to drop a class/fail, not get into classes needed, etc. This a Christ-centred university, grace is christian concept. There is absolutely no room for grace in schedules with a 16 hour limit. Also, I have friends at other universities taking 18 to 21 hours with no penalties or extra fees. If Lee cares about retention rates, they need to reconsider this change.

Keep in mind that with a limit of 16 a student will have a harder time finding classes that add up to 16 hours.. Most schools are 18 hours, making it easy to take up to 6 classes that are 3 hours each. With 16 hours you would need to take 3 classes 5 hours a piece and one class only 1 hour.. There are only so many one hour classes a person can take. It just limits the possibilities, because it's an odd number for totaling up classes.

Okay I really don't like this. Lee is the only place I can afford college right now, and I scheduled things to graduate on time. If This goes through and I cant take 17 hours without paying extra then I more than likely will not be able to attend Lee. I have already been forced to think of alternatives in case.
