The Common Core curriculum is completely run by the government and indoctrinates OUR children with the most obvious socialist (communist) view points toward government power OVER the people. It is the other way around! FOR the people and BY the people. I have also read lesson plans and even "attempted" to help my friends child with his Common Core curriculum homework and it is the most ridiculous curriculum I have ever seen. It is the parents choice/decision on what we want our children taught in the schools WE pay for with OUR tax dollars and/or money we pay for private schools. Get out of our schools and homes with this intrusive regime!

Please Take Common Core out of Missouri! Keep our Education OUT of the Governments hands, and in the hands of LOCAL Districts, as they KNOW their students and community needs~ "Thank You"~

I am against common core for my children! Education should be controlled by the parents, and local teachers! I do not want my child to be indoctrinated by a "liberal" minded government, who will corrupt the minds of our innocent children! Plus, the common core math, is not math at all, but a estimated math with no right or wrong answer. Common Core standards are stupid!

We need less control of our educational system by the federal government. Keep control on the local and state levels.

My son struggles w/ math the way I learned it. The new way is even more confusing even to me, which makes it hard for me as a parent to correct/direct him.

This article spells things out very well and is very true. Investigate it for yourselves and discover the many, many, many facets of common core and how it has slowly been implemented over decades under the auspices of "education reform." I especially challenge you to type the words "common core" and "special needs" and see how many negative articles come up. Also type in "common core" and "vouchers" and see how vouchers were used and the impact they will have on private and charter schools. There has been a purpose for everything that has been done "for education." We have spent more money than any other country and yet we are behind every other country. We have twice as many administrators, and teachers in the last couple of years or so and yet we have failing schools. More money and new buildings don't translate to success. They translate to "ownership." And this is where we are today in education.

For any who doubt what is going on, Common Core is nothing short of Marxist Propaganda being taught to our children as part of a federal mandated initiative. What's even worse, this happened without national debate, input from the citizenry, or even consultation with constituents by the elected representatives of either political party chosen to represent the will of the people who sent them to Washington. In my discussions with any living person across the fruited plains, not one can remember attending a single town hall meeting with a Senator or Congressman in which Common Core was even mentioned, and yet, here we are. This all happened as a result of the financial crisis, (as in never allowing a good crisis to go to waste,) and was inflicted upon our schools in the dark of night. It should be of surprise to no one that our nation's elite have exempted their own children from Common Core. That's right, the President's kids, the Senator's kids, the Congressmen's kids, and the children of the staffers working in Washington will be attending schools that are not forced to comply with Common Core. The College Board exams of our kids are being rewritten to match Common Core, but there will be a separate exam for elite children attending elite schools, who will be attending a different University system than the system the rest of, "we the schlubs," get to send our children to. Please stop this madness.

I have seen what my highschool son has to do in school. There's too much work given, too difficult, end of course exams, a constitution test to graduate, etc. The curriculum now is teaching our kids to think like robots. What happened to using imagination, creativity, & fun learning?

I home-school and common core standards are already overriding Missouri state homeschool regulations for my son, who is graduating this year from region 3 FHE, as he prepares to enter college.

As an educator and parent, I am so disappointed that our state is allowing C.C. to proceed next fall. To our legislators : Please do what you can for our students and teachers to NOT allow C.C. in our state.
