As a home school mom, I could not agree more with this! It's time for Missouri to stand up for its own children, and our right to educate them without interference from the federal government.

I wholeheartedly agree with every statement in this petition. It is a horrifying and wrong intrusion of the federal government and does little to nothing to actually educate the minds of our children.

Missouri needs to get CC out of our state. My five year old is already being taught this indoctrination and I am doing all I can to counteract his impressional mind. When you tell them to respect the teacher's authority and then they teach this...it is really hard to explain that the teacher is wrong. Come on Mo. we are not a state who backs down when our children are at stake.

Our kids are not statistics or experimental mice, they are real people and as American Citizens they have God given rights, which are supposed to be protected by our government not exploited by it!

Since our Governor and DESE have violated 3 Federal laws and circumvented Missouri Constitution by ignoring 6 state statutes on education I believe we should withdraw from Common Core as a state, and this would also protect our children from the DATA MINING that is a part of this.

Common Core is completely unnecessary at best and will harm children by labeling them as failures when they are NOT -- NOT failures by international standards, by any standards!

When I saw a parent being arrested at a school board meeting just because he had valid questions I knew there was a real problem with Common Core. He was a threat to what it is really about. Everyone should be afraid.

Why can't we get back to the days of old. Teachers teach and children learn. I see it with my kids, especially elementary, they teach for the test. Teach my child the way I was taught.

No child should ever be labeled. What kind of message is this sending??? No one is the same I LOVE the fact that my children are different and with that..... YES all children learn different, and that is perfectly ok. I have my child in a private school for a reason, to learn about God and to be able to stop and pray, whenever he wants. I feel like school should be safe and this is so terrifying what they want to teach our children. NOTHING is right about this!!!!! We all need to stand together as Christians and get involved. Save our children and our rights and STOP this NOW.

I don't trust the federal government to dictate my health care and I surely do not trust them to dictate my children's needs in education. Common Core needs to stop. Education should be led by the educators that are in the classrooms at the state level. We are talking about our educating our children not managing a business deal. Math and Language Arts are not portfolios or plans to be offered up. I agree that there need to be changes made to education. However, these changes need to be led by the educators right here in the trenches every day. Every child is not the same. I would not be stupid enough to think that every child would respond exactly the same to a medical treatment. Why on earth would I think that every child will perform best with only one pathway to learning? This is not the answer we have been waiting for.
