Support Local Control of Education - Get Missouri Out Of Common Core

Education should be controlled by parents and the local school districts. It is best served through unique, artistic hands of parents and teachers, not through the pre-designed methods and targets of a centralized government.

The Common Core undermines our liberty to raise our own children as we see fit, it violates the purpose of public education as specified in the state constitution.

The process that Common Core attempts to teach our children, does not, and has no place in any classroom.

Every problem in Common Core that I have seen is a confusing mess. Our children will not get a better education until we return control to the individual districts/teachers and start using more traditional teaching methods. We must raise the standards & not lower the bar!

Common core is terrible. Parents are not able to help their children with their homework because the process they use to figure out simple math problems is complicated, confusing and completely unnecessary.

Common Core was adopted, you might say, by executive order, in Missouri. To me, it seems to be nothing more than a huge profit scheme for these private companies, who could really care less or not if our children learn to read, or do basic math.

We in Missouri know what our students need. We also know what funds our schools need and we are more than ready to supply them. The federal government needs to step out of our schools.
