There aren't words for how angry this math makes me. The absolute dumbest and time-consuming method of solving simple problems. This is absurd and insane and will guarantee an even DUMBER generation than the one before it. I am horrifed at the implications of this program.

The fact that not one child psychologist or early child educator was included in developing the MO Common Core speaks volumes as to why it just doesn't speak to the actual developmental readiness of our children.

This is complicating true learning for children. I also believe it causes much anxiety in my grandson every time he sits down to do math.

I feel common core is a regression in the learning process for our children. I have never seen such a confusing and ignorant way to teach math. My children have never had any difficulties in math until our school purchased new "common core books." I am greatly disappointed that this new fad is being shoved down our children's throats. If I balanced my checkbook and rounded every time I added, I would be in a world of trouble. I do not have a PhD in Mathematics, but I do have a BS in Science Education and I have worked under a PhD organic chemist for the last 10 years, therefore I have taken upper level mathematics and use math in my job every day. My coworkers and I all feel common core is a waste of educational time and money. Thank you.

How are we supposed to help our kids with their homework the way they are supposed to do the process when we learned a more simple way, and get the same result with less confusion and less steps? K8ds already have enough pressure....
