We made a commitment to this neighborhood when we bought our home (over thirty years ago). We've raised our children, and have invested tens of thousands of dollars to modernize and maintain the house...all without tax-breaks or taxpayer subsidies. For an entity that is receiving both, it is the height of arrogance to reject the concerns of area property owners. Just a point of curiosity...do any of the architects, planners or corporation executives live in the neighborhood? Will any of you have to live (daily) with the final result?

No metal panels. When you compromise the aesthetics of the architecture you hurt the neighborhood, and the property values within our neighborhood. the look and feel is already somewhat of an eyesore compared to the houses of Chapin Parkway, but the metal panels are completely out of character!

Please do not use metal siding in this prominent location in the heart of Buffalo. Please design a building that honors and pays tribute to the architectural heritage our area is so proudly known for. Please give our area a building we can be proud of. Please don't shortchage an opportunity to design a showcase for the ages.

The loss of integrity of a vital neighborhood and the quality of life it provides is often via death by a thousand cuts. This finishing design is wholly out of place and detrimental to the neighborhood.

Worse than the metal panels is the horrible protruding roof/hat at the central front of the building. It reminds me of the terrible building by Carl Frizlan on Elmwood Ave. that was recently completed and opened. apartments and shops. This style seems to be taking over and exists on Delaware avenue as well. Where does it come from? It does not represent anything.

I agree, this building needs to represent the historical architecture & significance of the neighborhood. The architecture has also shifted from a multi-gabled traditional design to one much more modern & unimaginative. We as residents are required to maintain our homes in keeping with the historic nature of the area, & I feel any commercial property should do so as well. I don't want to feel as though I am living in the suburbs!

Restore Gates Circle as Olmsted originally designed it. Don't let greedy developers ruin one of Buffalo's greatest historic artifacts.
