Stupid people in politics with personal agenda. Not for the betterment of their city. Lose of money from tourism I tell you. Because no way in hell good folks will visit a city like that.

I honor black lives. I honor police officers. I honor police officers who protect black lives. I don't honor violent criminals.

Giving a rememberence day to 1 criminal is like saying "Job well done", causing other criminals to think that it is ok to do crime, and they will be recognized for it!! It's just a big slap in the face for decent citizens, and honest hero's!

This is an insult and endangerment to police officers. Being a criminal should not be celebrated to silence the media. The wrong message is being sent to our youth.

I don't agree with the way he was killed but we certainly shouldn't need to be asked to remember a violent and disobedient criminal

Native San Franciscan who supports the police. The vast majority of us support the SFPD - the Board no longer represents the people and the police/fire need to put forward their own slate of candidates.

Support the men and women of SFPD who put their lives on the line everyday for your safety not a dead criminal

I am sincerely sorry for this family's loss, but the truth is they lost Mario years ago. How many people have suffered at his hands, including his own family? Days of remembrance are for heros, and Mario and his mother are not on this list.

If this stands then it is one of many signs of how completely lost we are as a nation. Every great empire has fallen. It seems it may our turn.
