Remember when we would be grateful to the police for taking out a knife welding madman who just slashed a random person? Remember when we questioned the perp and not the actions of the police?

I believe that there are many valid arguments on both sides of this issue. I think the issue with police and African-American relations must be discussed with great vigor. However...naming a day after Mr. Woods does not solve this important issue. It only alienates.

This is a disgrace to San Francisco. Truly disgusting to memorialize a menace and threat to society, and sends the wrong message to the public that our police officers are out of control when they're serving the interest of the people.

Stupidest thing I've ever heard. They are probably trying to avoid a big Civil suit. RESIND.

I don't know of any days set aside to honor fallen police officers or firemen or some of the victims of violent crimes, crimes and assaults like those perpetrated by people like Woods.

We should not honor criminals. Having a day of remembrance for this individual is ridiculous.
