Mario Woods was a career criminal in possession of a large knife that he had just used to stab another person. Woods is a known gang member, armed robber, with a history of resisting arrest. Woods had choices the day he was killed. As he did most of his life, he continued to make bad choices and not drop the knife or surrender peacefully. Do not spend one tax payer dollar to honor Woods who dedicated his life to criminal activity and hurting innocent people. God Bless the men and women of the SF Police Department, and keep them safe from evil gang members like Woods!

As sworn Police Officer I am beside myself with anger over this. This City will never ever again see me or my money for any reason and I encourage all my brothers to follow along with me.

Honoring a supposed "folk hero", who had the legal obligation to be lawfully detained/arrested, but decided to escalate the situation by violently resisting police officers? Stop appeasing the anti-police movement!

A day of remembrance for such a violent person is very unwise.

Honor soldiers cops and Fire fighters killed defending your city instead of an armed career criminal...

The Board of Supervisors proposal is a disgrace and a slap in the face of those public safety officers who have lost their lives in the performance of their duties. San Francisco doesn't deserve to have Police and Fire Departments. They deserve for criminals to run roughshod on their streets and in their homes.

Since when does evil get honored instead of the men and woman of law enforcement and military. These men and woman are the same ones that keep you safe from people like him.

Why would politicians have a "Day of Remembrance" for a convicted felon and gang member who attempted to kill an innocent victim? Just wrong!
