I'm sorry for the loss of life, but I do not honor him at all.

While I deplore the needless death of an obviously crazy young man, I feel this "day of remembrance" is a way overboard reaction.

Why would anybody, especially a city such as San Francisco want to have a day of remembrance for a ex-felon that had just stabbed his victim, then refused to drop the knife when ordered. If he had gotten away, he could have stabbed someone else. The officers should be commended for their action in stopping a dangerous criminal with a knife.

This is a time, when everyone stated that we have to work together to bring Police Dept. and Citizens on the same page, Well this is the wrong way to start!!

As a 18 year veteran of law enforcement, I am shocked that the City of San Francisco would even consider such an action. Please use some common sense and decency and do not go forward with this day to honor Mr. Woods.

SF Supervisors have been known to make stupid laws but to honor a felon is just pass crazy. I also hope they realize that the innocent person that got stabbed by this felon Mario Woods could of been a relative of theirs.

There should be no recognition for a violent criminal.
