There are much more befitting people for this award. Just what did Mario Woods do for the City to EARN this award? Supervisors! Think! To honor this person is a disrespect to honest citizens.

No criminal should be celebrated on any day! But especially this one! July 22, 2015 is the date that my soulmate Sgt Scott Lunger of the Hayward Police was killed. Please share and sign to keep criminals from be celebrated. This date is already a tragically special one to so many people in the Bay Area as well as Law Enforcement.

The supervisors decision is appalling. The SFPOA's letter is perfectly worded. The action of the board of supervisors is shameful and disrespectful to all others who have rightly been remembered. Why does SF want to be highlighted as a city who glorifies felons?!

Let's honor fallen heroes that died in the line of duty or the ones that died serving our country. They deserve a day each year, not for an attempted homicide suspect.

There's no words to adequately express my disgust with this notion.

I refuse to honor a low-life criminal. I know of this individual through personal friends who had numerous run ins with him. He was just a rotten individual all around. Do not disgrace San Francisco this way. What message are we promoting by honoring terrible individuals like excrement of society?

I can't believe this is even a thing that needs to be addressed. He did not comply, had a weapon, and therefore was a perceived threat. It could have ended much better for him if he followed the officers instructions. No wife, husband, mother, father, brother, sister, son, or daughter should have to loose their family member because they are a LEO who was pressured by the media and others not to be proactive when their lives are at risk. It is a great injustice for law abiding citizens to have their LEOs being afraid of being called racist, or city representatives giving them a bad name by announcing the perpetrators has been rewarded by a day named in their honor. Makes me sick.

This is not the right way to go about bridging a gap. This is the way to burn the bridge altogether.

I am so upset by this that I really can't even put into words how I feel. Maybe sickened, appalled, shocked? No word adequately expresses my feelings about this. Shame on S.F. board of supervisors.
