Criminals do not deserve a day of rememberance by anyone but their loved ones, especially above real heroes that have fallen protecting citizens from people like this.

This so called "Day of remembrance" is a disgrace to the city of San Francisco, the state of California, and to the entire country!! How dare you honor a CRIMINAL!! Try honoring those who do GOOD for their communities, and with their lives. Anyone who signs this resolution is a national embarrassment, and a pathetic excuse as an American!! You should be ashamed of yourselves!!

As a long time Bay Area resident, thankfully residing in Texas, the "City" leaders have embarrassed themselves and citizens. There is nothing but further divide amongst an already stressed situation. As for the SFPD, hard to take, but remember, you are not responsible for perpetuating stupidity. Stay strong.

i find it grotesque that there even has to be a petition to remove this sort of thing. This "remembrance day" should never even been a thought.

This is appalling. He was a criminal. It is the police who should be supported; those who put their lives on the line every day.

SF needs a Memorial Day for Police Officers, not convicted parolee felons. What an insult.
