Why does a thug, who stabbed another person, who refused to drop the knife when directed to do so, and was shot by police, deserve a day of remembrance? I'll never set foot in San Francisco again!

Naming a day after a criminal is ludicrous. This should not be allowed.

If you want to name a day for a person it should be for the officer that laid down his life for his community for you to have the freedom and safety to carry out your daily lives , not criminals that prey on innocent people and create fear!

Lived in SF for 11 years and thought the police department was one of the most fair and level headed departments in the US. This is a slap not to the police department but to civilization.
