Great, now we're honoring criminals. Our society is getting stupider and stupider. Being a human is an embarrassment.

How embarrassed I am to live in this city. It is a wacko city, run by ultra liberal nut cases who make S.F. the laughing stock of the U.S. Now we are honoring criminals. Next we will be honoring bank robbers. This stance taken by the BoSupervisors is the last straw. Supervisor Malia Cohen should be removed from office as well as Mayor Lee.

While it's sad that this young man is dead, it is apparently through his own actions and it's disgraceful that the city of San Francisco would choose to honor him, thereby vilifying the police.

This must be a celebration that he died. There is no other explanation for ANY city here or abroad that would celebrate the life and death of a criminal. California should be setting the example for the rest of the United States on respect. This is telling the mindless criminal that it's okay to disobey the law and police officers and be stupid!

Board of Supervisors why have you not honored law abiding victims in your city in the same way. You are also adding fuel to the civil litigation that will follow. Idiots.

How dare you San Francisco! Not only are you being disrespectful to your own officers, but you choose the day that Hayward PD lost one of it's own to another criminal! Shame on all of you!

the shooting was a tragedy for the man and his family without a doubt. but in life, everyone is accountable for their own actions. this man allegedly stabbed another person, and behaved erratically towards police officers. the officers gave him multiple opportunities to comply, he chose not to. the police have the right to protect themselves when placed in dangerous situations. what do you expect them to do? shoot only after the suspect stabs them? that being said.. come on. there are PLENTY of deserving heroes in our community who should be honored. this man was not one of them. this is political theatre and showboating. shame on you SF supervisors.
