Stoo the stupidity!! The mother should apologize for raising a violent criminal!! Certainly we should NOT have a day of remembrance to recognize him in ANY manner!! His poor life choices and complete lack of "raising" by this woman led to his death!!!

SF BOS, maybe you should honor a day when the City was clean and safe. Spend your money on cleaning up the drugs on our streets. Remember that day?

It is reprehensible to even suggest naming a day after a person like Mario Woods. If he had been an innocent person caught up, it might be understandable. He was a violent offender who was stopped from victimizing more people, and in no way any type of martyr.

Where is the day for all the victims. This shows no respect to the police and other emergency service personal.

The SF BOS are so twisted in their thought process it boggles my mind. Should we celebrate M.W. day by stabbing someone? Why is there no concern for all the victims of crime in S.F. Why didn't the parent of M. Woods do more to keep him from a life of crime?

The Remembrance Day was an inappropriate use of public resources and an affront to the police department.
