I was impressed by the observations, comments and arguments presented by my fellow CC residents at the Council sessions. I cannot understand why the three members did not address these concerns. Why? I have to think there is a key factor that has not been disclosed. We voters are not idiots- we deserve an explanation.

I have lived in Culver City in a residential neighborhood for 36 years. I’m proud to say our schools and neighborhood are made up of people of many different backgrounds. I’m not sure what our three city council members are up to, but none of what they are trying to present have merit. As a proud Culver City resident I find their statements do not represent our city. What a shame.

This isn’t the only area fighting tooth and nail to keep R-1. This is a federal plan. Read the American Jobs Act, research HUD. Money for cities who eliminate R-1. Local governance is being upended by a federal agenda.

City Council will push this through. Ending R-1 is a federal agenda via HUD. Billions of dollars of “grants” set aside for jurisdictions that show/enact concrete efforts to end R-1 “exclusionary zoning.” The only remedy is a recall. City Council is enacting an agenda, constituents are meaningless in light of the agenda. All energy to fight this needs to go into a recall.

The fact that so many residents can see through, and are pushing back against the agenda of these council members makes me proud to be a Culver City resident.

We are totally against unzoning R1 single resident homes. The people should have the vote not just the Culver City Council.

I’m totally for the recall. They were voted in by the people therefore they SHOULD be listening to them. Not their own pocketbooks.

There is no point in electing a City Council to represent the people of Culver City if such council members choose to put their own personal agendas ahead of the will of the people.

I am very upset that this city Council resents senior citizens and ignores the will of 90% of Culver City residents. I find it ageist that meetings are still held only virtually. The arguments for ending R1 zoning aren’t based in reality. It is not right that 3 people can decide the fate of thousands of residents without proper public discussion. Replacing SFR with multi-plexes will mean losing trees and will cause more damage to the environment. CC doesn’t have the infrastructure to support a huge increase in density.

What a well done petition. People we need to organize and work to prevent this kind of government ever coming back to Culver City. Our City is being run by outside paid organizers who have foisted on us politicians who listen to them and not their constituents. We need to find two new candidates for the 2022 election who we can all support. Build up your network of likeminded people and reach out to connect to likeminded organizations and speak up at the Council Meetings. If we don't work to eliminate this type of special interest politics and gain back our small town responsive government, it is our own damn fault.
