I chose to live in Belton because it has always been a family friendly community. The LTLR plan would rip through and essentially destroy some of the safest havens of family life here and it runs directly contrary to the value this community has always placed on family.

This is not a good idea to build this road through our neighborhood. It will devalue every aspect of the neighborhood. This is an outdated plan that should be thought through better and funds allocated to other resources. No No No....!to this project.

I am firmly behind this petition and the opposition to the Wheat Road extension. This road has been on the master plan for many years, so the planners should have avoided building hundreds of residential homes right in the area that this road is supposed to pass. Since the building of homes was allowed the plan for the road must change. It doesn’t make sense anymore. Drivers can easily go to Dunn’s Canyon then to 439 to get to the dam and only take a minute or two longer. The costs of the road and impact to the hundreds of families in these beautiful neighborhoods is really not worth saving a minute or two of drive time to get to the lake faster. These are beautiful family neighborhoods and do not need a large road running through the middle of them degrading quality of life and property values just because it was a thought on a plan 20 years ago.

I am very much against the lake-to-lake road going through Dawson Ranch subdivision. The increased traffic is a concern with the number of kids in the neighborhood. A major road with access to I-14 also significantly increases the risk of burglary and theft. And, it would decrease the attractiveness of the neighborhood and the value of homes.

We bought our house because of the beautiful green belt in the back and we were told multiple times that it would be a walking trail. Now, it's going to be a highway. We don't want it. Please think this through and save the City of Belton some money by coming up with another plan.
