This is absurd.

I feel that this should not be happening and this is not right. Children need help, counseling services and guidance. Not to be treated as property or animals. This is not right.

Sending children, no matter their crime, to Angola is not only inhumane, it’s bad policy. How will they rehabilitate and re-enter society after this experience?

Angola is no place for young people. It's time to reform the whole juvenile justice system in Louisisana.

This is absolutely despicable! Forget the School-to-Prison pipeline, this Governor is removing the school part of that and is just sending them straight to prison. It's like the worst version of Monopoly ever, played out in real life! "Go directly to Jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200." Only thing is now there was never a chance to collect $200. So incredibly disgusting!

Angola is not a humane place for anyone, let alone children.

It is unconscionable to lock up kids at Angola. We should not ever be imprisoning children. We should be providing healthcare, housing & social services to families to prevent children from committing “crimes,” but since we insist on only funding policing instead of care, Angola is NOT suitable for children.

Sending kids to be housed at death row is inhumane and horrible. There is no excuse for such a decision to be made. They deserve care and concern. They are children.

Children and teens need compassion, connection and care not incarceration and trauma.

Governor Edwards, Sending children to this Prison is an egregious sin. How will this ever be right? These children will become “sicker and slicker”..is that what you want? You don’t have the right to throw away their lives..they are redeemable..like yourself!

No kids in Angola. Our children deserve so much better. Invest in their well-being and help children, families, and our communities thrive.

At a time when the youth of the nation need more understanding and compassionate assistance, this plan seems to be a step backwards.

Don’t send kids there. In fact, shut the godforsaken place down. Thanks

Read Albert Woodfox’s Solitary. Then close the prison. Do something better.
