Angola prison is not a place for anyone, let alone children.

Stop this idea! No child should be in a maximum security adult prison.

This is inhumane and perpetuating the cruel history of racism and incarceration in our country.

No kids should be sent to Angola. System based, wholistic rehabilitation only for young people. Shame on the federal judge that allowed this. Shame on the Governor of LA if he doesn’t stop this and do better for incarcerated youth.

No child should be housed in a former death row facility. Furthermore, children deserve rehabilitation. They are children! Angola is NOT a place for children, period.

I have worked with youth for more than 40 years and I know that incarcerating youth in a non-rehabilitative program will not do anything good for anyone, and will definitely harm individuals, families, and communities for decades to come.

Do not send our children to Angola. We have better options. This is how the powers that be can show that “all lives matter” and support “pro-life” in the most meaningful of ways. Do the right thing for goodness sakes!

As a pediatrician I am appalled that any teen/child would be imprisoned in an adult prison like Angola. Please stop this from happening.

Listening to NPR, I am HORRIFIED that we would put CHILDREN in PRISON along side DEADLY, ADULT CRIMINALS! It is UNCONSCIONABLE!! What are we doing to these poor souls who needs REHABILITATION not more RACE-BASED discrimination.

This sounds like such a horrifying idea. Please do not set a precedence in juvenile treatment by moving minors to Angola!

I just heard this story on NPR and it is outrageous. NO child deserves this. How can these kids be expected to properly rehabilitate when living in solitary cages on literal death row.

Treating kids is better than locking them up for non-violent crimes.
