It is a tragedy that we continue to punish the most disadvantaged communities in our country at higher rates: poor, black and brown, with least access to opportunities. To imagine we are going to enforce these racist policies to younger people now is beyond shameful. Stop this horrendous cycle.

Under no circumstances in a civilized nation should a child/juvenile ever be housed anywhere on the grounds of a maximum-security adult prison. To do as proposed by Governor Edwards is the equivalent of the State of Louisiana committing a criminal act against each and every child that would be endangered mentally, physically, and spiritually.

This is crazy, irresponsible, + solves nothing. Punitive measures + incarcerating youth, esp. black youth - who's kidding there - not only delay a problem but seriously hurt young lives which if survived could come back to haunt + hurt in many untold ways. Get smarter, La! Do the better right thing!

I've taught high school for 26 years and I know that when children and teens receive the services and support they need, they do not commit crimes. Please invest in your community wisely and humanely

Children have a hard enough time in life. Prison cannot help the lives of these children. Allot more money to juvenile holding facilities.
