This should be down to the people of New Hanover County. No sale should be agreed before we've had a chance to have a say by voting for or against the commissioners who support this, but a referendum would be preferable.

No effort has been made in this process to identify conflicts of interest in the initial process before it went public or since then to disclose under oath what financial interest or conflicts of interest those recommending sale or partnership have, so an informed, impartial decision that benefits the people cannot be made. Be clear that the corporate response to the infamous "headwinds" (a con job that certain commissioners and those leading this charge are selling the public) is to downsize staff, skimp on supplies, cut services for the poor and eliminate procedures (no matter how necessary) that do not bring in enough profit.
