The environmental risk of this sewer line and the property value loss, not to mention the outright stripping of land from owners, reveal this plan to be exceedingly irresponsible. Better solutions exist.

Please do not pollute yet another water source with a sewer line! This is a very bad idea and I am certain engineers can come up with better.

To many quality of life is more important than the profits of developers. Many people live in this area because of over-development in Greenville and elsewhere. Don't make the same mistakes here. Stop this project.

Environmentally how could this be approved - to run a sewer line only feet away from a creek?! The risk of contaminating the creek and the lake it runs to, everything down stream seems like a disaster in the making.

We need to stand united as a group to oppose the proposed sewer line. Based on the 2019 study provided by ECU, a previous study was done in 2013 to determine the cost of increasing treatment capacity of the current facility with a cost of $7.6M. Seven years later, the cost for the same expansion is now $10.64M.
ECU is looking at the less expensive alternative of running the sewer through Heathwood for $6.7M. There is no mention of easements in the advantages/disadvantages comparison of the previous infrastructure expansion versus the new sewer line, so one can assume the previous plan does not impact property owners or have a major environmental impact, only increased cost.
Our property does not border the creek, but we love Heathwood and will fight to protect our neighborhood.

Our natural resources should be left alone rather than destroyed in order to make money for businesses. I’m sure there is other available land or even empty businesses that could be revamped to have what is needed. Leave nature and neighborhoods alone to be enjoyed by the people who live in and around those areas.

Before the land and environment is destroyed, those being effected should have been considered. It is not right for businesses to be able to just make these decisions and not be responsible to those whom they harm. Additionally, it is ridiculous to expect the neighborhood you are harming to maintain your business actions. Terrible idea.

The current compensation rate is criminally low considering the profound and negative impact this project will have on homeowners. An alternative should be found and this project scrapped.
