The use of generative AI in art and music is the opposite of makes it great. It is uncreative, inhuman, and disgusting that an institution like Berklee is teaching its students these things.

Extremely disappointed that one of the world’s top music schools is pushing anything to do with generative AI

This is gross. Please do not promote AI, it is destroying the music industry and limiting opportunities for your students.

This is a very dangerous sentiment. The promotion of artificial intelligence to make music surpresses human creativity. Instead, I would recommend an event on how to combat artificial music and uplift human artists.

The fact that Berkeley is supporting AI is backwards and disgusting.

There are so many necessary classes that should be put in place and so many more out-of-date business classes that need to be worked on. Why prioritize a class model that supports the very opposite value I thought this school stood for. Keep creativity alive without this course.

Generative ai is art's biggest enemy at the moment, and I don't feel comfortable with apps like suno being encouraged at all, especially at this institution.

Generative AI provides nothing to art or society and is solely a means to commodify fulfillment of the artistic process for money, and steal money from people who create art as a job or even those who just do it for fun. It also more practically dilutes of the artistic skills and decision making capability of those using it en masse. Berklee should have nothing to do with generative AI.
