Ah yes, because spending thousands of dollars in tuition for a music degree just to write AI prompts is a great use of money! Seriously? Legitimately disgusting and spits on the reputation of this institution, and spits on the foundation of music and all other art as well.

I'm currently a student at Berklee and this is incredibly disappointing. I hoped to gain real skills from knowledgeable instructors providing a curated curriculum.
If I just wanted to copy/paste generated content stolen from real artists, I could just do this directly without Berklee because I don't need to actually learn anything. If I can't figure out how to use Suno, I could ask Claude/Gemini/any other slop tool to think for me. I don't need to pay Berklee tuition money.
This tarnishes the Berklee name and makes me strongly reconsider continuing my degree.
Do better.

I go to this school and am immensely disappointed by this development. I came here to learn from the masters, and this is a slap in their collective faces, as well as anyone else who seeks to tread in their footsteps.

I'm going to Berklee next year, and this is not what I'm paying for. Of course, the information about all of this came out after I put in my deposit... so the best I can do is state the facts. This is stupid. This is painful. This is harmful. This is the antithesis of Berklee. Shut it all down.

ChatGPT and Suno are blatant examples of tech profiteering through generative AI at the direct expense of students and the general public. They've got no place in an academic environment.
