No Funding for Blake Lane Park Destruction - Transfer Land to FCPA!

Please keep Blake Lane Park

There are 2-3 elementary schools already around Blake lane Park and we want to keep this green space for our children

Please do not build a school at Blake Lane Park

Find a location better suited to absorb all of the additional congestion and that has more Green space

Our One Fairfax policy includes mentions of equity in access to healthy living and green spaces. Blake Lane Park is an incredible green resource in a densely packed area where adjacent small apartments and townhomes don't have other access. Coupled with the cutting down of nearby trees to widen I66, this area is at risk of losing its green infrastructure. Please don't make an irreversible mistake by eliminating this park when alternatives are able to be pursued.

Please remove Blake lane park from site consideration to build the new Oakton/Fairfax school.

IF there was an appropriate time to build a school at Blake Lane Park, it passed more than 15 years ago. The surrounding area needs a park much more than it needs a new school.

No justification to build on BLP from officials, so no to destruction!

I don't believe there is justification for a school at this park location. There are many better location with better infrastructure. We can't create viable parks anymore.

This park is a necessity part of our environment!

I strongly oppose any construction/paving over Blake Lane Park. The neighborhood has very little green space and is densely populated with townhouses and apartments. There is already a lot of traffic. This park is the only source of fresh air and a respite for birds/animals left. Build the school where a community can observe additional congestion and where residents have access to backyards/other parks. Ours is the wrong place to build!

I know what it's like to have dogs and not have a backyard. That's what it's like for many people in this community. Don't take away their Green space!

Blake Lane Park is an invaluable part of the community by providing a place to reconnect with nature, contribute to sustainability efforts, exercise and connect with neighbors, among other things. Destroying parks will also destroy an accessible way for everyone to maintain their well-being.

Please leave green space. It makes our community a better place to live.

Save Blake Lane Park !!!

The park Ian not the appropriate site for the school. Many solutions have been proposed by the community but no alternative considerations have been offered by the School Board/Local Government. This issue would make a permanent and irreversible impact on this community.

The 2016 bond referendum for parks included land aquistion. Let’s honor the will of the voters! We do not approve of giving up parkland. Please seek alt solutions.

We can already walk to three public schools and one private school from here by Blake Lane Park. Traffic is already horrendous. Most of us around here don’t have backyards like people do in other more affluent areas. We have one green space that is the heart and soul of our diverse community. It is not just a Dog Park but a healthy area to destress, to play, to congregate, to commune with nature and to enjoy for all ages and all people. Destroying it to put another school here would be detrimental. It would not be fair. This would never happen in Great Falls or in Langley or in McLean. Schools are important but so is the health and well-being and very identity of the people in the community who live here. There are other options so that we can have both schools AND green spaces. Parks and green spaces are healthy for people, for animals, for nature. And once they’re gone they’re gone forever. We can’t let this be taken away from us.
